National Park College (NPC) Cultural Diversity Awareness Club and the NPC Office of
Diversity and Inclusion will host several Black History Month events in February.
Elmer Beard and the Hot Springs World Class High School (HSWCHS) Dance Troupe will
perform Thursday, February 13 at noon in the Student Commons Conference Center. Beard
will read from his latest collection of poetry. The HSWCHS Dance Troupe will provide
two performances during the program. Light refreshments will be served.
NPC will host the Yesterday’s Negro League Baseball Players Exhibit February 15-26. The display will be open during campus operating hours, 8 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The exhibit explores the rich and colorful history
of the league through artifacts, portraits and memorabilia. Former Negro League baseball
player Dennis “Bose” Biddle will speak February 26 at 9:30 a.m. in the Student Commons
Conference Center. Following the event, Biddle will be available for a meet and greet
to sign autographs and photos.
All events are free and open to the public.
