Nighthawks Basketball Earns All-Region Honors

Four members of the National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk men’s and women’s basketball teams were named to the 2020 NJCAA Division II All-Region team this week for their outstanding performance on the court this season.

For the Nighthawk women, freshmen Imani Honey (Hot Springs) and Nya Moody (Lake Hamilton) were selected to the All-Region first team, with Honey being named the All-Region MVP. Honey led the Nighthawks in scoring this season with 18.5 points per game, including a team-leading 37.5-percent record from three-point range. Honey also led the region with 9.9 rebounds per game. Moody averaged 15.4 points per game while leading the region with a 76.5 free throw percentage.

Freshman Joe Ramey (El Dorado) earned All-Region first team honors for the Nighthawk men. Ramey’s 22.7 points per game led the region and his 67.5 field goal percentage ranked second-best in the nation. Sophomore Reyhan Cobb (Decatur, GA) was named to the All-Region second team. Cobb averaged 14 points per game while leading NPC with 8.4 rebounds per game.

"We are extremely proud of our young men and women who were named to the All-Region team,” NPC Athletic Director Jason Hudnell said. “No doubt they have proven their value on the floor and it is nice when the other coaches in the league recognize the talents of your players. I’m also proud of the character of these student-athletes and the dedication they have shown to their teams and to Nighthawk Nation.”
