Due to lingering ice accumulation on buildings and walkways across campus, and to prioritize the safety of our campus community, National Park College will continue remote operations on Monday, February 2. With temperatures expected to drop overnight, refreezing is anticipated and may create hazardous conditions Monday morning.

Honors Arkansas has chosen National Park College (NPC) alumnus Alan Robinette as a
“Hometown Hero.” Robinette was an honors student at NPC, where he received his Associate
of Art and worked in the campus library. Upon graduation, Robinette attended Henderson
State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Integrated Studies. He
is currently taking classes at Emporia State University working on his Masters of
Library and Information Sciences.
Robinette began as a circulation manager for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. After
evaluating what would make him happy and fulfilled, he realized he was holding a job
and not building a career. His desire to become a librarian was fueled by the culture
of libraries themselves. They are hubs of learning, culture and training. “Libraries
are active, alive, and irreplaceable,” stated Robinette.
