The National Park College (NPC) chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Beta Psi won four awards during Catalyst 2020, the international convention.

PTK 2019-2020 officers holding awardsAlpha Beta Psi was recognized for their college project with the Distinguished College Project Award. This award is presented to the top 50 college project entries. The college project is meant to establish a supportive relationship between the chapter and the college administration. The chapter’s project focused on the communication of campus resources to students.

The chapter received an award for being in the top 100 chapters internationally. This award is based on the chapters ranking for their Honors in Action and College Project scores.

The chapter also won the Distinguished Chapter award, placing them in the top ten percent of the chapters in the world. To qualify, the chapter must complete written entries for the Honors in Action and College Project.

Finally, Alpha Beta Psi achieved recognition for being a Five Star Level Chapter. Each level defines different goals for a successful chapter and Alpha Beta Psi maintains a five-star level yearly. For this, the chapter must identify academic excellence and build chapter foundations, organize chapter leadership and engage members, get involved at the regional level, develop a college project, and develop an honor in action project and be involved at the international level.
