National Park College (NPC) announced Kaitlyn Burroughs as the April student of the
month.
Burroughs began college at the University of Fort Smith with the hope of entering
the Dental Hygiene program but transferred to NPC. “I soon realized I wanted to push
myself harder academically. Instead, I am majoring in biology and chemistry, in hopes
of becoming a physician’s assistant,” stated Burroughs.
She will finish her bachelor's degree at Henderson State University in 2022 and then
plans to apply to the University of Arkansas for Medical Science (UAMS) Physician
Assistant program. Burroughs plans to specialize in dermatology. “Skin has always
fascinated me and there is so much to learn,” said Burroughs.
Dr. Chuck Argo, Social Science division chair, said, “Kaitlyn is a very conscientious
student who does an excellent job with all of her work but is especially skilled in
the sciences. She is very smart, focused, and will make NPC proud at UAMS.”
“I've really enjoyed my experience at National Park College. Everyone has been so
welcoming, and the teachers were especially so. They all really care about you learning
the material and are always willing to work with you even if it puts them at an inconvenience,”
she said.
