Registration opens Monday, April 20

Classroom of students with teacher at the front. There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding each of us due to the unforeseen challenges of the pandemic. If you are interested in changing careers or advancing in your field, National Park College is here to help. Administration, faculty and staff members have worked tirelessly to transition the registration process to an online format. COVID-19 should not and will not deter your plans to continue your education. Education is a worthwhile investment that no one can take from you.

Registration for new and returning students opens Monday, April 20. NPC’s registration process is different this year, but we are ever committed to assisting student success.

Financial Aid

Many students believe that college is out of reach because they cannot afford tuition. NPC’s tuition and fees are less than half the cost of the average university. NPC offered nearly $8 million in scholarships and aid last year and approximately 95 percent of NPC students receive some type of financial assistance.

NPC offers a nontraditional scholarship to assist students in pursuing a degree. This scholarship is available to pay tuition, fees, and books with a maximum award of $1000. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours, meet satisfactory academic progress, be degree-seeking, and have been out of high school for at least one year. Apply for this scholarship at np.edu/scholarships.

The Lloyd’s Second Chance scholarship is available to students who need a second chance at earning an education. One scholarship for full tuition and fees will be awarded for the fall semester with the opportunity for renewal for up to two years. Applications for this scholarship will be accepted through June 15. Learn more about this scholarship opportunity at np.edu/secondchance.

Advising

All new students are required to consult an advisor before scheduling any classes. You should also consult with an advisor at any time during the semester when you feel it is necessary, and especially when you are making decisions about registration (adding, dropping, or withdrawing from classes). Advisors are available to meet virtually, and you can make an appointment by visiting np.edu/advising. To meet with an advisor outside of normal business hours, please email npc.advising@np.edu.

If you are interested in transferring, be sure to notify your advisor so they can help you understand which classes will fulfill your degree requirements at the transferring institution. NPC offers over 90 transfer options to public universities across the state. Many of these options may be completed online. Learn about these transfer options and more by visiting np.edu/transfer.

Bachelor’s Degrees in Hot Springs

You can earn a bachelor’s degree at NPC through a partnership with Southern Arkansas University. Choose from three bachelor’s degrees in biology pre-health, chemistry pre-health or computer science and finish your bachelor’s degree without leaving Hot Springs. Learn more at np.edu/SAU.

Textbooks

Hawks Nest Books and Gear is closed to the public at this time. However, students can order all of their textbooks online by visiting bookstore.np.edu. Summer textbooks sales begin May 18 and fall sales begin July 14.

Seek Support

Even the most dedicated students get overwhelmed at some point. When the pressure of college becomes too much, don’t be afraid to ask for help. NPC has professionals in place to help you navigate the obstacles that can interfere with your success.

Online 24/7 tutoring is available through Tutor.com and can be found under the NPC Resources tab in D2L. You have an eight-hour limit for the semester, but you can request additional hours by emailing lwalker@np.edu.

Professional mental health services are available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday by phone or email.
