Six recipients were selected this year, including Steven Eberly, who is working on a Technical Certificate in Industrial Technology; Melody Hemberger, working on an Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Technology; Josh Mills, working on an Associate Degree in Middle Level Education; Kolt Riggan, working on an Associate of Applied Science in Paramedic; Andrea Strong, working on an Associate of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Addiction Studies; and Ron Teague, working on an Associate of Applied Science in Digital and Media Arts.

The Luciews are committed to helping students who have served in the armed forces complete their education. Mr. Luciew served in the U.S. Navy and Mrs. Luciew had a career as a registered nurse. They established a military service scholarship endowment in 2014 after attending an NPC graduation ceremony where they witnessed a large number of veteran students stand and be recognized. Mrs. Luciew said, “We are just honored to be able to do this, to pay back veterans for the time they have given up for our country.”

The NPC Foundation works with the community to support scholarships, endowments and campus improvements. Scholarship endowments like the Military Service Scholarship have been created for sustainability to help NPC students succeed. Visit np.edu/give to learn more.
