The National Park College (NPC) Board of Trustees approved 17 new transfer degrees Wednesday during their regular monthly meeting. The guaranteed course transfer degrees will be part of the National Park University Center and will begin in the fall 2020 semester, pending equivalent approvals from university partners and the Arkansas Division of Higher Education.
Dr. Wade Derden, vice president for academic affairs asked the Board to approve the degrees, which include five university partners. “While there are still approvals needed, we are excited about these degrees because they offer our students more opportunities for transfer without losing any credits. These are subjects we believe students need and we are responding to that,” said Derden.

NPC President Dr. John Hogan said, “The addition of these 17 degrees brings our total number to almost 100 guaranteed course transfer opportunities for NPC students. The efforts we make to expand transfer opportunities are important to our mission of increasing degree attainment for our community.” He commended the academic team for their work to collaborate with university partners. “The process is complicated, but the result means our students have more opportunities to succeed. We continue to make transfer a priority because it is critical to our students’ success.”
