The National Park College Nighthawk men’s basketball extended its winning streak to three games with a 98-81 road win over Williams Baptist University Friday.
Led by a 17-point first half from sophomore KJ Corder (Hot Springs), the Nighthawks (14-4) enjoyed success early against the Eagles, flexing its deep bench to outpace the Eagles’ seven-man junior varsity roster. Sophomore Logan Willett (Faith Prep Academy) added three treys in the first half to fuel National Park College’s 53-35 halftime lead.
In the second half, the Nighthawks utilized its stifling defense to build a 30-point margin against the Eagles. Led by four three-pointers off the bench from freshman Bradey Woodall (Manila), the Nighthawks kept their foot on the gas, offensively, to stop a late Williams Baptist University run and cruise to their third-consecutive victory.
Corder led the Nighthawks in scoring with 19 points. Willett added 15 points, while freshmen DJ Martin (Pine Bluff) and Woodall amassed 14 and 12 points, respectively, in the win.
The Nighthawk men travel to Conway today to take on Hendrix College with a 7 p.m. tipoff. XZero Sports will stream the game live at www.xzerosports.com. The Nighthawk women return to action Saturday, Feb. 16 on the road at Rhema Bible Training College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
