Nighthawks Stunned By Greyhounds

The National Park College Nighthawk men’s basketball team ended its four-game winning streak Thursday, falling to ASU Mid-South, 101-58.

After a back-and-forth battle throughout the game’s first 11 minutes, the Greyhounds built a double-digit lead that would not be relinquished. Capitalizing on cold Nighthawk shooting and defensive rebounds, the Greyhounds surged to a 49-23 halftime lead.

In the second half, the Nighthawks searched for their rhythm, paced by a nine-point half from sophomore Seth Duke (Gravette). However, the hot-shooting Greyhounds kept their foot on the gas, halting the Nighthawks’ efforts at securing their first NJCAA Region II win.

Duke led the Nighthawks in scoring with 12 points, while sophomore Braylon Steen (Bryant) added 10 points in the loss.

The Nighthawk women travel to Rhema Bible Training College Saturday at 4 p.m. XZero Sports will stream the game live at www.xzerosports.com. The Nighthawk men return to action Thursday, Feb. 21 at Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock.
