National Park College (NPC) announced Harris Felton as the Arkansas Community Colleges
(ACC) Academic All-Star Scholarship recipient during the Commencement Ceremony this
month.
Felton is a first year Associate of Science in Business major at NPC. He is a full-time
student, a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and will serve as the incoming Student Government
Association president. He also serves on the NPC Strategic Planning Committee. His
ultimate goal is to transfer to Arkansas Tech University and major in Engineering.
Felton said, “I chose to come to NPC for several reasons. First, and foremost, was
the fact that my brother and sister both graduated from here and highly recommended
it. They enjoyed the emphasis on learning, as well as the kindness and warmth of the
teachers. I have found that my siblings were right – the instructors here are caring
and helpful and want you to succeed.”
The ACC Academic All-Star Scholarship is awarded annually to students from each of
the two-year colleges in Arkansas as recognition of their academic and service achievements.
Recipients must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.25, be involved on campus
and in the community, and plan to transfer to a four-year university in Arkansas.
