The student athletes of National Park College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams
were honored in an awards ceremony Friday at National Park College for their outstanding
achievements on and off the court this season.
In their historic first season in the NJCAA, eight Nighthawks were recognized as
All-Region members. Sophomores Faith Bratton (Jessieville) and Bailey Womack (Fountain
Lake) and freshman Patrick Greene (Little Rock Mills) were named to the 2019 NJCAA
Region II Division II All-Region first team with sophomore Braylon Steen (Bryant)
picking up All-Region second team honors. Nighthawk women’s coach Marvin Moody Sr.
was named All-Region Coach of the Year while sophomores Seth Duke (Gravette), KJ Corder
(Hot Springs) and Hailee Crosby (Mountain Pine) received All-Region honorable mention
awards.
Seven Nighthawks—Bratton, Womack, Summer Godwin (Mountain Pine), Desmond McDonald
(Hope), Chandler Roland (Perryville), Garrison Branscum (Perryville) and Preston Crowder
(Arkadelphia) received the Nighthawk Scholars award for being named to either the
Dean’s List or President’s List during the 2018-2019 school year.
McDonald and Godwin also received the Faculty Choice Award, which recognizes student
athletes who lead not only on the court, but in the classroom as well.
To close the evening, Bratton and Steen received the Nighthawk Spirit Award, which
honors student athletes who represent their school and athletics programs with exemplary
leadership.
