National Park College Announces Jennifer Seward As Digital And Media Arts Instructor

Jennifer Seward, communication and art faculty at NPC.National Park College welcomes Jennifer Seward in her new role at the College as the Digital and Media Arts instructor.

Seward received her bachelor of art from Arkansas Tech University in 2000 and is pursuing a masters of fine arts from Texas State University. Her career began as a production designer in Fayetteville before moving to San Francisco to do layout and web design for renewable energy research and development company, Frontier Energy.

From there, Jennifer moved back to Arkansas and worked in newspaper pagination. After earning her non-traditional teaching license, Seward taught public school art and business technology classes in Mulberry, Arkansas for seven years. She moved to Hot Springs with her husband in 2011 where she has taught Advertising and Design for NPC’s high school technology program. Seward is also a freelance designer and has continued to do branding and identity projects for local businesses such as SQZBX and All Things Arkansas.

In her spare time, Seward creates and sells hand-illustrated art, prints, and cards for local shops and weekend markets. She has exhibited fine art in several venues including Emergent Arts in Hot Springs and the Center for Art & Education in Van Buren. She also enjoys hiking and camping with her family.

“National Park College is more than an educational institution,” Seward said. “NPC is a community, a family, and somewhere I knew that I wanted to belong. I love what I do and am so happy to get to share my knowledge and experience with what is now my hometown community.”

“The Digital and Media Arts degree is a new degree to NPC which I helped develop,” she said. “I’m looking forward to implementing the new curriculum and seeing what this program can become. Art, design, and creative expression are such an integral part of society and seeing students grow and share their creations with their community will be most rewarding.”
