National Park College (NPC) hosted a SafeTalk training April 12. Susan Millerd, NPC’s
Intervention Specialist, organized this training.
The half-day training provides resources to help recognize persons with thoughts
of suicide and to connect them to suicide intervention resources. According to the
Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC), the ‘safe’ of safeTalk stands for ‘suicide
alertness for everyone’, while the ‘Talk’ stands for the practice actions that one
does to help those with thoughts of suicide: Tell, Ask, Listen and KeepSafe.
