Poetry In The Park

Allyson Marx sharing her winning poem.The Communications and Arts Division and the NPC Library held the 11th annual Poetry in the Park competition last week as part of the Student Art Showcase. Students, faculty and staff were encouraged to enter poems that reflected the theme of new beginnings and rebirth. Thirteen students entered along with five faculty and staff.

Allyson Marx entered her poem “Weeping Willow” which took first place among the students. “The Ice Storm” by Janet Mauk won first among faculty and staff. Each winner received a goodie bag from the Hawk’s Nest bookstore at NPC.
