Due to lingering ice accumulation on buildings and walkways across campus, and to prioritize the safety of our campus community, National Park College will continue remote operations on Monday, February 2. With temperatures expected to drop overnight, refreezing is anticipated and may create hazardous conditions Monday morning.

Governor, Asa Hutchinson appointed Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Wade Derden
to the Criminal Justice Institute Advisory Board last month. Derden’s term will expire
January 14, 2023.
“It is an honor to be appointed to the Criminal Justice Institute Advisory Board.
This University of Arkansas System campus provides significant programming and educational
opportunities for active duty law enforcement officials across the state. I look forward
to serving the state and specifically the law enforcement community in this capacity,”
said Derden.
Derden holds a Ph.D. focused in Public Policy and a Master of Art in History from
the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He is also graduate of Hendrix College,
where he completed a Bachelor of Art in History. He has 16 years of experience in
higher education, serving as both a faculty member and an administrator.
