Colby Morgan was selected as the Technical and Professional Division’s student of
the month for April. Morgan is enrolled in the Industrial Technology Technical (ITT)
certificate program at National Park College (NPC). He is on track to complete his
technical certificate in three semesters, and has recently been exploring opportunities
to expand to an associate degree that may lead to studies in engineering or engineering
technology.
Morgan is a husband and a father and returned to school to improve his employment
prospects. He currently works full-time as a maintenance technician at a local apartment
complex. There he has proven his adeptness in electrical wiring, electronics, welding
and fabrication.
Morgan has demonstrated academic excellence at NPC. He was named to the president’s
list in his first semester at NPC and was invited to join Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the
honors society for two-year colleges. He is one of four students from ITT to be invited
to and accepted an invitation from PTK.
“Colby demonstrates leadership in the classroom through academic achievement, enthusiastic
participation and perfect attendance. His enthusiasm spills over in his inquiries
about, and conduction of, laboratory exercises beyond the normal course plans,” stated
Bill Freuck, ITT faculty. Morgan currently serves as a student member for the Industrial
Technology advisory committee.
