NPC Chili Cookoff

Faculty, staff, and students taste and judge at NPC's chili cook-off.

Students and employees gather around crockpots to taste chili.National Park College's (NPC) Hospitality and Tourism program and SGA hosted a Chili Cook-off. Entrants included Katherine McCorkle with “To Bean or Not to Bean?” a chili with a traditional tomato flavor, beans and meat, Dr. Sam Christian with “Sam’s Super Awesome Chili”, vegetarian chili with a variety of spices and flavors, NPC’s Hospitality and Tourism Management Team’s “Mama’s Chili”, a chili-infused with a blend of spices and flavors, and Lynn Valetutti’s “Tutti’s Chili”, a hearty combination of meat and beans.

Students, faculty and staff were invited to taste test each of the chilis and submit their vote for who would be deemed winner of the golden spoon. Votes were submitted by placing a dried bean in the jar placed in front of the chili of choice.

Though the vote was close, the winner of the golden spoon was “Sam’s Super Awesome Chili” by Dr. Christian.
