NPC To Offer OSHA Certification For Aerial Work Platforms
National Park College (NPC) Community and Corporate Training will soon begin offering
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certification for aerial work
platforms.
“The requests from companies for training in aerial work platforms has increased in
recent years,” said Workforce Specialist Barry Ballard. Employers in the area need
to train their personnel, but no local source for the training existed.
In order to meet the need of local employers, Ballard completed certification as a
licensed trainer on aerial work platforms through National Lift of Arkansas. The course
included classroom instruction covering a wide range of required topics and safety-related
information, as well as hands-on operation of the equipment to demonstrate OSHA safety
operations.
“Completing this certification provides NPC’s industry partners the opportunity to
have me come to their site to complete this much-needed training. Having the ability
to certify employees in-house on telescoping lifts, articulated booms, scissors lifts,
and personnel lifts allows companies to minimize time away from production while gaining
essential skills for workers,” said Ballard.
In order to earn OSHA certification for aerial work platforms, class participants
will be required to complete classroom instruction, pass a written exam, and pass
a practical application test with the equipment. For more information about scheduling
