National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk women’s basketball team fell to Rhema Bible College Tuesday.
The Eagles pulled ahead with an early lead and carried the momentum through with a final score of 96-60.
The Nighthawk women’s team has faced a series of challenges this year. The team has had difficulty with the schedule as many women’s teams across the state canceled games due to a lack of players. Coach Bob Kissire said, “We started out the season with a lot of intensity, but it’s tough to keep everyone fired up when we go so long without a game. We have some building to do, but we have a lot of talent and we will get there.”
This semester also brought about transition in the roster for the Nighthawks. The
women lost two players and gained three additional members. Joining the team this
semester are #22 Shawnee Shepherd of Bismarck, #14 Haley Ortiz of Caddo Hills, and
#10 Laney Wallace of Malvern who transferred from College of the Ouachitas.
’Leading scorer for NPC was #33 Faith Bratton of Jessieville with 35 points, 11 rebounds,
and five assists. #50 Anna Ledbetter from Lake Hamilton scored 9 points, three rebounds
and two assists. #23 Kayla Sims of Fountain Lake scored 8 points with two rebounds
and one assist.

30, but that match has been canceled. They will next face North Arkansas College in
Harrison February 2 at 5:30 p.m.
