Nighthawk Men Close Season 12-5

National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk Men’s basketball team closed the season Monday night with a win against Arkansas Baptist College. The team took an early lead and dominated throughout the game for a final score of 101-83.

This marked the final home game for the Nighthawks, ending with a season tally of 12-5. “This was a great game to end our regular season. We got to play everyone, we had a good crowd, and there was a lot energy in the building,” said Head Coach Jason Hudnell.

Westin Church of Pea Ridge.“I cannot say enough positive things about these young men and how they have represented NPC this season. I believe a 12-5 record in our very first season is a fantastic start. It has taken a team of talented individuals to make this happen. The staff and faculty at NPC have been great; the community has really rallied behind us as well. I believe there are some very exciting things in store for Nighthawk Nation,” he added.

Leading scorer for the men was Braylon Steen (24) of Bryant who scored 18 points, seven rebounds, three assists and a steal. Lowell Washington (12) of Bryant added 15 points, eight rebounds and one assist. KJ Corder (13) of Hot Springs earned 14 points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal. Westin Church (10) of Pea Ridge scored four tres for a total of 13 points, two rebounds and three assists. Seth Duke (2) of Gravette also scored 13 points and added one rebound and one assist. Jarvis Ricks (1) of North Little Rock added 10 points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal. Pictured is Westin Church (10) of Pea Ridge.

The Nighthawks ended the season with 1599 team point total, 565 rebounds, 204 assists and 125 steals. Leading scorers for the season were Braylon Steen (24) of Bryant with 336 points, 127 rebounds, 29 assists, and 12 steals. KJ Corder (13) of Hot Springs earned a season point total of 321, 105 rebounds, 31 assists, and 17 steals. Lowell Washington (12) of Bryant totaled 203 points for the season with 118 rebounds, 18 assists, and five steals.
