National Park College (NPC) Nighthawk Men’s Basketball team faced the Champion Christian
College Tigers Tuesday at Bank of the Ozarks Arena for a rematch after the November
28 double overtime thriller. The Nighthawks won after another double overtime with
a final score of 113-106.
The Nighthawks led the majority of the game, going into halftime with a 46-39 lead.
Regulation ended with a tie of 86-86, followed by a 97-97 tie in the first overtime.
In the end, the Nighthawks pulled away with a final score of 113-106 after the second
overtime as #12 Lowell Washington broke away for a slam dunk in the final seconds
of the game.
Leading scorers for NPC were #13 KJ Corder of Hot Springs with 29 points and 7 rebounds,
#24 Braylon Steen of Bryant with 23 points and 12 rebounds, #1 Jarvis Ricks of North
Little Rock with 23 points and 4 steals, and #12 Lowell Washington of Bryant with
7 points and 13 rebounds. Corder scored seven 3-pointers in the game. Ricks scored
13 of his 23 points during the two overtime periods, helping secure the Nighthawks’
victory.
The Nighthawks and Tigers will face off again February 24 at NPC at 7 p.m. They play
Williams Baptist College January 16 at Williams at 7 p.m.
