Nighthawk Men Improve To 6-0

In its first home game in more than three weeks, the National Park College Nighthawk men’s basketball team impressed its fans with a 30-point victory at “The Kettle” Thursday, defeating Williams Baptist University’s junior varsity team, 102-72.

DJ Martin going for a basket against Williams College In a game where the home team never trailed, the Nighthawks (6-0) utilized a high-pressure defensive scheme and capitalized on turnovers to build a double-digit lead over the Eagles early—fueled by nine-point efforts from freshman Patrick Greene (Little Rock Mills) and sophomore KJ Corder (Hot Springs).

Leading 44-31 at the break, the Nighthawks turned up its defense in the second half—allowing just four baskets inside the paint, while sharing the offensive workload across 11 players.

Greene led all scorers with 21 points, including five three-pointers, in the win. Sophomore Braylon Steen (Bryant) added 11 while freshman DJ Martin (Pine Bluff) and sophomore Seth Duke (Gravette) added 10 points each, respectively.

National Park College plays host to Rhodes College on Saturday at “The Kettle” in Hot Springs. XZero Sports will stream the game live at www.xzerosports.com, beginning at 3:00 p.m.

The Nighthawk women return to action Saturday, December 8 at Rhema Bible College in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
