Nighthawk Men Soar Over UA Cossatot

Patrick Green going for a basket against Cossatot defense.The Nighthawks (1-0) began the game on a 16-2 run, fueled by an 11-point surge from freshman Patrick Greene (Little Rock Mills) in the game’s first three minutes. National Park College led, 66-30, at halftime.

14 different Nighthawks scored in the win. Greene finished with 20 points, including 15 first-half points. Sophomore Logan Willett (Faith Prep Academy) added 11 points and sophomore Lowell Washington (Bryant) and freshmen Bradey Woodall (Manila) and Desmond McDonald (Hope) amassed 10 points each in the victory.

Chase Ewing led the Colts (0-1) with 28 points in the loss.

At halftime, National Park College revealed the new name of its Nighthawk mascot. “Nox” was the winning submission voted upon by Nighthawk students, faculty and staff.

The Nighthawk men return to action Monday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at Rhodes College.

The Nighthawk women will compete in the Lady Greyhound Classic this weekend, hosted by ASU Mid-South in West Memphis. National Park College faces ASU Mid-South Friday at 7 p.m. and plays NorthArk Saturday at 12 p.m. XZero Sports will stream Saturday’s game live at www.xzerosports.com.
