National Park College (NPC) will host a documentary screening of Chasing The Dragon: The Life of an Opiate Addict Friday, November 30 at 12:15 in the Frederick M. Dierks Center for Nursing and Health Sciences.
The documentary was created by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Agency to educate students and young adults on the dangers of addiction. A panel discussion will be held following the film. Speakers and panelists include Kelsey Lagaly, James Montgomery, Susan Millerd, Sabrena Lewis, and Steve Arnold. Scott Reinhardt, Assistant Special Agent in Charge, from the Little Rock field office of the FBI will be in attendance.
Education Program Manager for the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office, Kristina Carnes will provide resources for treatment options and warning signs. Information on the "Don't Run, Call 911" program will also be available courtesy of Pat Brannin, the Criminal Justice Institute's liaison for community outreach.
The event is free and open to the public.
