Monday, Nov. 12, SGA announced the winners of the faculty appreciation awards. Students,
through a poll in blackboard, nominated faculty members for each category.
The winners of the SGA sponsored student-faculty appreciation awards were as followed:
Dr. Bishnu Dhakal secured the Most Altruistic award. Dhakal was recognized for his
compassionate commitment and for continuously and unselfishly placing his heart and
soul into being an educator and a mentor for his students.
Acknowledged for his extraordinary gifts for using his ability to transform the seemingly
impossible into easily understood, Brian Theroux walked away with the Demystifier
award.
Accepting the Most Knowledgeable award was Dr. Rebekah Robinette. Her students recognized
Robinette for her dedication as an educator, having a vast amount of knowledge and
the capacity to discuss a wide range of topics, the expertise to convert this information
to a level understood by all students, and accredited as being smarter than Wikipedia.
Dr. Christopher Thrasher snagged the award for most innovative. Thrasher was chosen
for his dedication to tackling technology and using its tools to design original methods,
which every student is given the ability to learn more effectively.
Recognized for her amazing instinctive aptitude for helping students identify the
talents they never knew they had and inspiring them to reach for a future they never
would have dreamed, Dr. Samantha Christian took home the award for Most Inspiring.
