PHI THETA KAPPA EARNS ELEVEN AWARDS AT REGIONAL CONFERENCE
Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College’s (NPC) Alpha Beta Psi chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honors Society attended the 2017 Phi Theta Kappa Oklahoma/Arkansas regional meeting in Edmond, Oklahoma at the University of Central Oklahoma last week. PTK officers Howard Cheresnick, Melissa Krafft, and Michelle Godwin attended the meeting along with members Anna Archer and Karl Lowry, and advisors Dr. Rebekah Robinette and Samantha Christian.
Alpha Beta Psi was a host chapter and lead a dynamic welcoming activity. In addition
to networking with other chapters in the region, students heard from speakers on topics
such as immigration and international trade. Students met with regional candidates
and later cast their vote to elect the new regional officers.

Michelle Godwin was elected Secretary of the Oklahoma/Arkansas Region Alumni Association and Dr. Robinette was elected VP/President Elect of the Advisor’s Association for the Oklahoma/Arkansas Region. During the awards banquet, Alpha Beta Psi was the recipient of multiple awards for the 2016-2017 Hallmark Awards entry period, including:
- Five Star Chapter
- Five Star Chapter (for two years running)
- Distinguished Chapter Officer Team Award (top five)
- College Project Hallmark Award (top five)
- Oklahoma-Arkansas Region Host Chapter Distinguished Chapter Officer (top five) - Michelle Godwin
- Distinguished Chapter Advisor Team Award, runner-up
- Most Distinguished Advisor - Nannette Crane-Post
- Horizon Award (Up-and-Coming Advisors) - Samantha Christian Paragon Award for New Advisors, runner-up – Dr. Rebekah Robinette
- Horizon Award (Up-and-Coming Advisors) – Dr. Rebekah Robinette
