NPC Accreditation Renewed For Concurrent Programs

National Park College (NPC) was granted accreditation from the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) last week. Only 105 colleges across the nation have earned the recognition, including seven Arkansas campuses.

Concurrent Credit Coordinator, Connie Poteet said, “The quality of instruction students receive in concurrent credit courses is a top priority for NPC. High Schools concurrent courses are held to the same rigor as the course taught on the NPC campus. We work hard to make sure students complete the courses successfully and leave better prepared to continue their college coursework after high school.”

Accreditation for NACEP is a detailed process, which began with the submission of the reaccreditation application in June 2016. Poteet began assembling the application in 2015 to be prepared for the final application package to be ready in June 2016. The process takes collaboration and cooperation from the entire campus and the high school instructors to build the application package. “I make sure all of the final information is in the correct format and the correct information is being remitted, but it is truly a team effort to complete the process successfully,” Poteet noted.

The Chair of NACEP's Accreditation Commission Victoria Zeppelin of the Tompkins Cortland Community College remarked, "I'm very pleased to recognize the Concurrent Enrollment Program at National Park College as one of a select group of one hundred and five concurrent enrollment partnerships nationwide accredited through NACEP's extensive peer-review process. National Park College has once again demonstrated to its peers that the college courses it offers in high schools are of the same high quality as college courses offered on campus."
