NPC HOSTED FREE BARRETT BABER CONCERT FOR COMMUNITY

Barrett Baber, The Voice alumnus, in an outdoor concert at NPC.National Park College (NPC) hosted a free community concert Saturday featuring The Voice alumnus Barrett Baber. More than 300 guests attended the event.

NPC Student Affairs provided a number of door prizes during the concert, including two tuition scholarships for a three-credit hour course. Cory Morris and Sara Stinson, both of Hot Springs, each won a scholarship.

Cory Morris accepting a scholarship from NPC Student Affairs.Morris is a current student at NPC and was extremely excited to receive the award after recently relocating to the area from Florida. He is working on an Associate of Arts degree and plans to transfer to study environmental science. Stinson graduated high school in 2005 and is interested in a degree in social work.

Opening act, Spa City YoungbloodsThe Spa City Youngbloods opened the concert. The group is a product of Spa City Blues in the Schools, a program designed to promote the "BLUES" genre and to provide an opportunity for 7-12 graders to play an instrument or enhance their skills. Spa City Blues in the Schools rehearses at NPC twice a month.

Event sponsors included National Park Medical Center, Lloyd’s Auto Sales, and Entergy Arkansas. Vending was provided by Flossie’s Funnel Cakes, Ward’s Crawfish Hole, and Whitworth Concessions.
