HOUSE RESOLUTION COMMENDS NPC, LAKESIDE

National Park College (NPC) and Lakeside School District were recognized by the Arkansas House of Representatives at the Arkansas State Capitol Wednesday. Representative Les Warren presented House Resolution 1040 on the House floor stating, “This is a great day for me. I get to recognize two groups from my home county.” Joining him at the well were Representative Laurie Rushing, Representative Bruce Cozart, and Representative Mickey Gates.

“I am so pleased to stand before you today and tell you about a program called the Lakeside Legacy program. We are the second program in the state of Arkansas to now offer associates degrees,” Warren said. “A student attending Lakeside Public Schools can now earn 66 hours of college credit while they are in high school through National Park College. This has been a great effort of collaboration between Lakeside Public Schools and National Park College,” he added.

NPC received accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission for an additional location on the Lakeside campus earlier this year. The announcement was made last month. The full text of the resolution is available on the Arkansas General Assembly website.
