NPC Faculty and Students Attend Space Grant Symposium

Stevie and Chris Wells standing in front of a projected Winthrop Rockefeller Institute sign for a photo.NPC Engineering faculty Paula Welch and NPC / HSU Engineering faculty Dr. Basil Miller attended the 2017 Arkansas Space Grant Symposium at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute, Petit Jean Mountain in April. Also attending the conference were Engineering students Stevie and Chris Wells. Every year, awardees of an Arkansas Space Grant present their research at the Symposium. Presentations included oral reviews and scientific posters of research by students demonstrating the progress of their research proposals. Also in attendance was Luke Geoffrion a current student at Henderson State University and NPC alumnus. Luke received a $6000 NASA Internship Grant for the upcoming school year to work with Dr. Miller at HSU.

The Arkansas Space Grant Consortium (ASGC) includes 17 four-year universities and colleges throughout Arkansas. ASGC is funded by NASA and has been in operation since March 1990. The primary goal is to educate and familiarize faculty, undergraduate and graduate students with aerospace and related industries
