NPC SINGERS HOST SPRING CONCERT
Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College (NPC) Singers and Soundwaves will perform their final concert of the year Sunday, May 1, at 3 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Students will perform a concert entitled, A Fond Benediction, based on the Commissioned Choral arrangement of The Lord Bless You and Keep You by Brandon Nelson. Student singers collected funds and commissioned Mr. Nelson to write an arrangement based on the Luftkin version of The Lord Bless You and Keep You. The students honored Mrs. Edds with the work while preparing to sing in New Orleans, Louisiana in February.
“The students took this project on themselves,” Edds said. "What a wonderful and priceless gift that I will cherish for the rest of my life and it will remain in the choral library at NPC for the next generation of choirs to enjoy."
This concert is the culmination of 21 years of directing at the College for Denise
Edds, who will retire in May. "The biggest joy of my years of teaching has been seeing
the students reach their goals, not just musically, but in all of their endeavors,”
Edds said. “I will miss our incredible students. They have taught me so much through
the years.”
All former choral students are invited to attend this concert and will have preferred
seating. The concert is free and open to the public.
