MLT PROGRAM RECEIVES 10 YEAR ACCREDITATION

Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College’s (NPC) Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program was awarded a ten-year continuing accreditation from the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) last month, the maximum award given by the organization.

Program faculty must provide a summary of the last five years of annual reporting data, explanation of assessment strategies, continuous quality improvement methods, and graduate and employer feedback.

Program director, Carol Spargo said, “The self-study, review and accreditation process set forth by NAACLS is extremely arduous. The MLT faculty are pleased to have the program recognized for the caliber of the education our students receive and believe that we are fulfilling our mission to provide the health care community with quality employees.”

The NPC MLT Program’s three-year average graduation rate, from 2013 through 2015, was 95.8 percent. The graduation rate of 2016 graduates was 100 percent. For the same three-year reporting period, the program’s employment placement rate was 89.2 percent and the certification pass rate was 100 percent.
