NPC DEDICATES LEGACY HALL TO COMMEMORATE CAMPUS HISTORY

Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College (NPC) hosted a building dedication for the newly named Legacy Hall Thursday. Past presidents of National Park College, Garland County Community College, directors of Quapaw Technical Institute, and Board of Trustees members were invited to recognize the legacy of their leadership.

The College unveiled new signage on the front of the building, formerly the Math and Sciences Building. Inside the building, a tribute wall showcased past board members and presidents commemorating their service to the campus and the community. A similar display will be installed to honor faculty and staff at a later date.

Vice President for External Relations, Jeff Weaver welcomed guests and recognized past trustees, presidents and directors who were in attendance. Gail Ezelle, NPC Trustee read the resolution adopted by the Board last month that renamed the building.

Legacy Hall DedicationDr. John Hogan, NPC President spoke about the contribution of pride, volunteerism and student success that the founding trustees gave to the campus. He thanked all 51 trustees and the 7 presidents and directors for the legacy of excellence they left with NPC, stating, “We are standing here today on the shoulders of giants.” Hogan estimated NPC has awarded more than 20,000 credentials in the history of the institution, with a conservative estimated earning power of $8 billion over the past 43 years. “Our graduates touch every sector of the county, and the fingerprints of our alumni extend all through the state of Arkansas and beyond,” he said. He closed by noting the College has a responsibility to carry on the legacy of these great leaders and build on their dream. The dedication of the physical space will help to preserve and honor the rich history of NPC.
