SALLY CARDER TECHNICAL FUND DONATES AUTOMOTIVE LIFT
Hot Springs, Arkansas – The National Park College (NPC) Automotive Technology program
received a donation from the Sally Carder Technical Fund to purchase a new automotive
lift. The fund is used to support technical programs and equipment needs. To date,
the fund has been used to purchase equipment and upgrades for the welding, automotive
and marine programs.
The lift is a Bend Pak HDS-14LSXE four post hydraulic alignment lift and includes
optional hydraulic jacks. It is capable of lifting 14,000 pounds and meets current
industry standard for professional repair facilities. It was installed by McDaniel
Equipment Company of Little Rock and took about six hours for two professional technicians
to install.
Jason Armitage, automotive instructor said, “Having the ability to train students
on industry standard equipment gives them the advantage they need to be successful
in the automotive field. Our new lift allows our students to repair and diagnose concerns
they will be encountering daily when they enter the workplace.”
“We appreciate Dr. Carder’s vision and commitment to our technical programs. Our automotive
students will be better prepared for the workforce in our local community thanks to
her efforts,” said Dr. John Hogan, NPC president.
Dr. Sally Carder, retired NPC president shared, “The technical programs are near to my heart because of the years I spent as Director of Quapaw Technical Institute. I know the impact these jobs make in our community and quality training is key to continued growth in our economic development. I challenge our local business and industry to consider how they can help support technical training programs at NPC.”
