NPC Approves Budget, Launches np.edu

May 25, 2016

Hot Springs, Arkansas – The National Park College (NPC) Board of Trustees held their regular monthly meeting Wednesday, May 25. Items for report included the budget for the 2016-2017 fiscal year and unveiling of the new website, www.np.edu. Testing Center Director, Suzy Still was recognized for the NPC Testing Center’s recent certification award from the National College Testing Association (NCTA). The Center is the fifth in the state to receive national certification by the National College Testing Association. Certification status acknowledges adherence to best practices in the testing industry, adds to the center’s validity for prospective distance learning students, vendors, and other organizations, and certifies that our test center operates under the highest accepted standards and practices for all types of testing.

NPC Continues to Expand Transfer Options for Students

NPC Remembers Dr. Tom Spencer, Past President

Hot Springs, Arkansas – With great sadness and heavy hearts, the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff and students of National Park College (NPC) remember the legacy of Dr. Tom Spencer, past president of NPC. Dr. Spencer passed Saturday evening. He was a quiet, humble leader with a lifelong love of learning. He had a calming demeanor and is best remembered for his fiscal responsibility and deep dedication to student success. He was a stabilizing presence for the College during a time of great change. Many remember his ability to recognize and nurture potential in others and his drive to advocate for those who had difficulty speaking up for themselves.

NPC Invests in Enrollment Management, Online Learning

Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College (NPC) Board of Trustees held their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 30. Items for report included a new degree program, enrollment management update, overview of the budget process, and an investment in quality assessment of online learning. The March Student of the Month was introduced by Learning Acceleration Instructor, Mark Chapel. Dawn Gonzalez, 25, is a Hot Springs resident and mother of three. She has completed 93 hours toward an associate of science degree in education with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.26. She hopes to complete her degree in August 2016 and become an elementary school teacher. A Career Pathways student, Ms. Gonzalez is a National Park College Student Ambassador and work study secretary for the Learning Acceleration Division.

National Park College Announces Fall Dean's List and President's List

February 10, 2016

Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College (NPC) Office of Student Affairs released the Dean’s List and President’s list for the Fall 2015 semester. 185 students were named to the Dean’s List and 223 students were named to the President’s List. Students on the Dean’s List must maintain a minimum of a 3.25 semester GPA and a 3.25 cumulative GPA. Students on the President’s List must maintain a minimum of a 3.6 semester GPA and a 3.6 cumulative GPA.

NPC Welcomes Dr. Jerry Thomas as VP Student Affairs

Hot Springs, Arkansas – National Park College (NPC) Board of Trustees held their annual meeting and regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Items for report included new hires, new degree programs, an update on the Foundation’s year-end report, and an overview of recent and upcoming campus events. During the annual meeting, the Board elected new officers, appointed standing committees and adopted the calendar for the year. Gene Parker was appointed Chairman, Ray Donathan was appointed Vice Chairman and Gail Ezelle was appointed Secretary/Treasurer.
