Megan Lindsey (BSN, RN)'s Story

Three weeks into starting the Practical Nursing program I became a single mother. I completed the Practical Nursing program and passed the licensure exam and went to work. One year later I continued on in school to obtain my Registered Nursing license while working as an LPN.

I graduated from the LPN program in 2006 and the RN program in 2009. In 2012, I attended Arkansas Tech University's online RN to BSN program and graduated that December. Since graduating I have worked in several different settings including acute care on a medical-surgical unit in a local hospital, hospice care, and home health. I am now a National Park College nursing faculty member for the Practical Nursing Program and looking to pursue a Master's Degree in Nursing.

I have been a single mom struggling to make ends meet while going to school and have come out on the other side as a successful professional.
