Dr. Burgess teaches the Pathway to Engineering curriculum in the Technology Center and also serves as an adjunct instructor for Engineering Graphics in the Math and Sciences Division. He previously taught Mathematics at Philander Smith College. Prior to his teaching experience he was an R&D engineer and engineering manager at three U. S. Department of Energy National Laboratories. He earned PhD and BS degrees in engineering from the University of Arkansas and an MS degree in engineering from the University of New Mexico.

Jennifer Seward is a designer and educator working. Using her combined 10 years experience as a design educator and 15 years as a freelance designer, she brings her work and life into the classroom. She has worked in corporate design for a renewable energy company in Oakland, CA, a sports poster company in Fayetteville, AR and in newspapers in Fort Smith, AR. You can see her logo work locally in downtown Hot Springs, AR at All Things Arkansas and All Things Natural. In her spare-time she is a an artist and illustrator.
