Music Faculty, Arts-and-Humanities

Dr. Ferris Allen was born in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, a suburb of Tulsa, and grew up in Northeastern Oklahoma. He attended Oberlin College, a small, four-year liberal arts college and music conservatory in rural Ohio for his Bachelors in Music. He received his Master in Music at The Juilliard School and his Ph.D. in Music at Indiana University. Dr. Allen worked at Indiana University and Wabash College as adjunct music faculty, at UALR as a Visiting and Assistant Professor of Voice, and at Oberlin College Conservatory as Visiting Professor of Voice. He joined NPC in the Fall of 2016. He enjoys hiking, especially the Front Range and Roosevelt Nat'l Forest trails accessible from Boulder County, Colorado, and he of course enjoys hiking in Arkansas as well.
