Professor of Biology, STEM
Darlene Gentles started her teaching career as a Graduate Assistant at HSU after graduating from Garland County Community College and Henderson State University with degrees in Biology and General Science. After grad school she began teaching Anatomy, Biology, Chemistry and Microbiology labs and worked as the lab manager at National Park Community College. As the college grew, she began teaching Biology, Botany and Zoology lectures too. Over two decades later, Mrs. Gentles still enjoys teaching immensely. The challenge of introducing the new Associate of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree has been rewarding, and working with students is her favorite part of the job!
