BACKGROUND/HISTORY

The Board of Trustees recognizes the importance of staff contributions to the decision making of the College. Therefore, the staff may organize for the purpose of staff governance, and the President will be available to that designated body for direct communication.

AUTHORITY

The Board of Trustees will inform the elected leader of the College's staff governance system whenever any changes are made in a policy regarding the staff governance organization. Likewise, the President and the Chairman of the Board of Trustees must be notified of any changes in the staff governance constitution, bylaws, and procedures within 30 days of the time such changes are approved in accordance with the staff constitution's guidelines. The Board of Trustees reserves the right to final approval of all changes. The adoption of this policy is in no manner a delegation of any authority vested in the Board of Trustees by the State of Arkansas or the College District.

POLICY STATEMENT

The purpose of this policy, and any ensuing actions, is to guarantee communication and input and interchange among the Board of Trustees, administrative officers, and the employees of the College covered by the constitution, by-laws and procedures of the staff governance system.
