National Park College is located in Hot Springs, Arkansas, a beautiful resort community
of over 38,000 approximately 45 minutes southwest of Little Rock. The local economy
centers on tourism, manufacturing, retirement living, and medical sciences. Tourism
attractions include the thermal waters of the National Park, hiking trails, horse
racing at Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort, five nearby lakes, outstanding golf courses,
and a thriving art community.
The fourth largest community college in the state, National Park College serves approximately
7,000 students per year enrolled in credit and noncredit courses, workforce training,
and adult education classes. NPC is among the top 20 employers in the county providing
a significant economic impact to the community, as well as services that contribute
to further economic development in the area. The College has approximately 379 employees
including 210 full time and 169 part time. The College's operating budget is more
than $18 million.
NPC averages approximately 3,000 credit students annually enrolled in college courses blending liberal arts with occupational education to prepare students to enter the workforce or transfer to a four-year institution. Over 4,000 students a year also enroll in a wide range of non-credit and continuing education services provided by the Community and Corporate Training Division and Adult Education programs.
